This unique Baltimore fabric shop and sewing studio features two levels of adaptive reuse space. Analogue worked closely with the dynamic owner to create a space that matched her fun and whimsical approach to running a serious business. We think she (and we) nailed it.
Domesticity features modern fabrics, classes, and machines packaged in a welcoming and inclusive space for the whole community.

This project was designed for a couple seeking an urban sanctuary blending interior and exterior spaces. The renovation occupies an historic edge of Baltimore's Patterson Park. From the exterior, the home blends in with its neoclassical neighbors. The interiors transition to clean lines, framing a lush rear garden.

This was a blast. Designed for a dealer of vintage and retro antiques, this "outside the box" house is right at home in Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood. From custom stairs to repurposed materials, this home's uniqueness is only matched by its owners.

IN PROGRESS. Designed for a childhood friend in the hills of North Carolina, this new home's spaces are influenced by the simplicity and ritual of several Eastern traditions. The owner, an epidemiologist and master of multiple martial arts disciplines, plans to bring his contemplative practices to the flow and detailing of the space. Yeah, it's awesome.
This client came to us with a simple but smart question.
"Does our tiny addition have to be brick?"
"No."
Rather than try to match the brick and create a small appendage to this beautiful DC home, we took cues from the fenceline and responded with cedar cladding. The result is a modest addition that responds to the yard, leaving the historic home to do its thing.
Just because you own a home in the Maryland suburbs doesn't mean you have to act like it. This repeat Columbia client has entrusted us to gradually transform their home from 90's blah to contemporary modern. It's right up our alley.

PASSION PROJECT ALERT. We've been pushing this one on anyone with a pulse and would love to hear from serious collaborators.
Analogue is currently researching some sites for a series of small cabins in our backyard of Patapsco State Park. We'll share more as we get legs under this one.
Analogue worked with the owner of this Fells Point property to create a 3-story walk-up over his existing carriage house. The new structure serves as an apartment with the historic front building operating as an owner-occupied mixed-use space. The complexities of the process and construction made this one a true joy to see come to fruition.
